Inspiration For Holiday Decor

Inspiration For Holiday Decor
The Color House loves to share crisp, new decor ideas for the holidays. We all know the usual reds and greens...but this year we are showcasing different possibilities so you can envision our home with a fresh and exciting look. We have created these mood boards to show you how color transforms...whether it is a subtle change or a bold pop.

Here is our Holiday Inspiration!
This Hanukkah mantel showcases a different look than the traditional blue, white, and silver we have gotten used to over the years. Incorporating natural evergreen decor with touches of brown enhances this 8 night celebration!
While orange is not a color we usually see for holiday decorating, it has a deep traditional meaning and also a more modern usage. An orange in the stocking may recall the legend of the three balls (or bags) of gold that the Bishop of Myra, the real Saint Nicholas, gave to three poor maidens to use as dowries. More recent use of the orange at Christmas is that in the 19th century the orange was a rare and expensive fruit and was a treasured gift.
Whatever the origins, shades of citrus fruits bring light and joy to green and brown displays at the holidays and lend a beautiful scent to a room. Consider adding the exotic orange to your holiday vignettes!
Deep, rich peacock blues, grays, and metallic fabrics are just the thing an opulent holiday setting needs to be differently festive! Eschew the traditional red, green, and gold and say "Welcome" to a palette of sophisticated fun this holiday season.
Woodland creatures and the simplicity of mellow greens, browns, and whites will set the scene as the family gathers 'round the tree and cozies up to the fireplace. It's easy to bring the outdoors in with woody accents in natural colors against a beautifully painted green wall.
